Many say the teenage years are the best years of your life. But many teenagers will disagree. Believe it or not being a teenager can be stressful. There are so many big decisions to be made that can control the rest of your life. What subjects at school should I take, I do not know what to do when I leave school, what if I do not pass my exams are just many of the questions you may be asking yourself.
*In a survey of 172 15-16 year olds who were preparing for their GCSEs revealed that one in four teenagers suffered from high levels of stress.
Although many of them said they listened to music, watched TV, or played sport to reduce stress levels, a worrying 30 per cent said they drank alcohol, 16 per cent said they smoked and six per cent said that they used drugs.
The MADP website is here for you to give you advice and support on how to manage that stress but to also give you advice on alcohol, drugs and tobacco. We are not here to tell you what to do but to help you understand the short and long term damages alcohol, drugs and tobacco can have on your body and how you can receive support and advice on dealing with your own or someone elses addiction.
