Moray Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service

MIDAS is based at 252 High Street Elgin and is an integrated service.  The Moray Council Social Workers/Family Support Works and NHS Grampian Community Psychiatric Nurses.

What does the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service offer?

• Advice and support for drug/alcohol users
• Advice and support for families particularly where use of substances impacts on the care of children
• Advice and support to young substance users (with the consent of parents/guardians if under age of 16 year)
• Substitute prescribing
• Information on how to access free needle exchange
• Home detoxification, advice and support
• Residential Detox

Referral and Assessment Process

• Self/Agency Referral
• Assessment for services including counselling and Residential Rehabilitation
• Referral on to appropriate agencies

Family Planning

• Free Condom service and family planning advice
• Substance education/training for clinical staff/social work staff and other agencies
