A client was referred to P2W by a Criminal Justice addiction worker. He was an ex-offender, on a methadone programme who was having problems with housing and needed to gain and update his skills. He also had community service hours to complete.
P2W supported this client with his housing and training. He went on to gain a computing certificate and a CSCS card to allow him to work on building sites. He also completed a 2 day training course on drystane dyking!
To help with his community service hours, in discussion with Criminal Justice, P2W arranged a work experience placement which reduced his hours and his placement worked so well that the client gained employment out of this opportunity.
This client is now in his own permanent accommodation, has completed his community service, has completed his methadone programme and is working full time.
By working in Partnership with Criminal Justice, Kessock Clinic, a local training provider, a local employers and Jobcentreplus P2W has helped this client turn his life around.
Here is what one client has to say
"P2W got me out of a long term rut and led to a job which I really enjoy and I've been working for 1 1/2 years now. The help and advice I received built my confidence to the point where I felt ready to return to work after 20 years. I would highly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation"
