National Alcohol Awareness Week
National Alcohol Awareness Week: 5th to 11th October 2008
Due to the success of the first National Alcohol Awareness Week, Scotland will have its second Alcohol Awareness Week in October again this year. The drinks industry, health professionals and the Scottish Government are joining forces for a week long initiative to foster a culture of sensible drinking.
There will be a fun stand at various venues throughout Elgin during the week to raise awareness of this event.
Come along and join us to find out 'What's in a measure?' and see if you can walk a straight line with the 'beer goggles' on. Watch this space for details of venues for 2008.
The aim of the week is to educate the Scottish adult drinking public about how much alcohol they consume, in particular raising awareness of what constitutes a unit of alcohol and how this relates to sensible drinking guidelines.
