Alcohol Concern
Alcohol Concern is the national agency on alcohol misuse. They work to reduce the incidence and costs of alcohol-related harm and to increase the range and quality of services available to people with alcohol-related problems. They also provide information and encourage debate on the wide range of public policy issues affected by alcohol. They support specialist and non-specialist service providers helping to tackle alcohol problems at a local level, whilst also working to influence national alcohol policy.

Alcohol Focus Scotland
Alcohol Focus Scotland is Scotland’s national alcohol charity. Drug Misuse Information in Scotland
The Drug Misuse Information in Scotland site provides information, statistics and research relating to drug and alcohol misuse. Our target users are policy makers, professionals, researchers, employers and the wider community.
The Effective Interventions Unit was set up in June 2000 to identify and disseminate effective practice to support the implementation of the drug misuse strategy. The Unit is located within the Substance Misuse Division of the Health Department.

Scottish Network for Families Affected by Drugs
SNFAD is a new membership organisation. It was set up in May 2003 and is run by representatives of organisations that support families of substance users.
It has operated initially with support from the Scottish Executive, the DAT Association and Scottish Drugs Forum. The Board of Trustees is made up from a number of elected representatives of Family Support Organisations from across Scotland .
The Scottish Executive's Substance Misuse Division has worked closely with representatives of organisations that support families of substance users to set up the SNFAD and since its launch in May 20-04 provided hands on support to its Management Committee.
Scottish Drugs Forum and the DAT Association have also been closely involved with the work of the Network and can testify to its growing capacity.

Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol (STRADA)
Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol (STRADA) delivers quality training across Scotland to all professionals in health, social, education, police and prison services: pharmacists and non-statutory organisations. Highland has a dedicated STRADA trainer until 2005, based in the area.
STRADA is a partnership between the University of Glasgow's Centre for Drug Misuse Research (CDMR), The Department of Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) and DrugScope.
