National Alcohol Awareness Week
Media launch - A launch event and photocall will take place Monday 22 October, attended by the Minister and key partners. IAS SMARTS will develop press materials to support the launch. More details to follow.
The MDAAT will be hosting an awareness raising stand at various venues in Moray throughout the week to promote the following messages -
"Know how much you're drinking, it may be more than you think"
"The recommended safe guidelines for drinking are no more than two to three units per day for women and no more than three to four units per day for men. If you overdo it, give your body 2 days off. Scottish Government advice is that we should all aim to have two alcohol free days a week"
Health
"Regularly drinking more than the recommended daily amount can have severe consequences for your health"
"Excessive drinking can severely affect your health here and now, not just in twenty years time"
Change
"Keep a drinking diary to help you understand where, when and why you drink what you do"
"By thinking about where and when you drink you can make informed decisions about your consumption"

The Alcohol Awareness Week website contains links to all partner agencies and organisations. It also contains links to www.infoscotland.com/alcohol and www.drinkaware.co.uk, both of which provide advice and guidance about how to drink safely and responsibly and feature online drinking diaries, which allow users to monitor their alcohol consumption and see how it is affecting their health.
